As you can see I've changed my blog title somewhat. First I've shortened it up so that hopefully it will help the search engines to find it easier. Secondly I dropped country from in front of gospel music so that now instead of country gospel music it just says gospel music which will give me a broader scope of things to write about. And the last was to take world news off this particular site because I feel that it just does fit in. I have set up another blog for news and my political views. You can find it at http://mikerupesr.blogspot.com As for my health thought I"m leaving that on here cause I think that health is very important to all of us.
Now with that being said and done some things about me and gospel music. I'm always on the lookout for some old songs that you just don't hear much anymore. In times past I would go to the thrift stores and search through all there old records and tapes and quite often I would find what to me was a real gem. Increasingly it has become more and more difficult to find these items. Like so many other things they almost become a thing of the past. Now I turn to YouTube a lot to find the songs I'm looking for. For me it is a lot of the older gospel songs that I seem to favor. There's a saying that I've always held onto. "Faith can move mountains but music can move the soul."
Prayerfully soon I can start sharing this music with people once again for it has been far too long since I have done that. And to tell you the truth I miss it. Not only would it hopefully make the people feel a little better but I would walk away feeling much better myself. Guess I'm feeling a little guilt, for God gave me a talent to use and it is my job not to waste it. Of course God gives each of us some kind of talent to use. There's another old saying that goes "Use it or lose it." And I can certainly tell when I haven't picked up the guitar for awhile. Even Mr. Guitar himself Chet Atkins said during an interview one time that he had to play daily otherwise he would start forgetting stuff. As for me I need to get up off my duff and start doing. And what better way the with some good ole gospel music.
My health thought for the day is---I think if we were able to make breakfast the biggest meal of the day then that would not only give us the fuel our bodies need but we would have the whole day to burn up calories.
Keep your thoughts happy, take care and may God bless.
Mike Rupe Sr.
