Whether it be electric guitar, acoustic guitar or steel guitar I just like the sound of guitar music. So that's one of the reasons I prefer country gospel music(or Christian country which I guess is today's term for it.) Now I'm more or less a strummer or rhythm guitar player. Unfortunately for the number of years I've been playing I never did learn much lead. I have watched a couple of tutorials on YouTube only to find out my fingers don't stretch like they once did. So I'm basically a C,F,and G kind of guy with a 7th thrown in from time to time. I do play in different keys though. Enough said on that.
Have you ever wanted to learn a new gospel song but didn't have the words or perhaps it was one that wasn't in the hymnal? there are many online resources to help you out. The three that I use the most are #1 The Gospel Music Archive or http://www.gospelmusic.org.uk/ #2 Classic
Country Song Lyrics or
http://www.classic-country-song-lyrics.com/countrygospelsonglyrics.html/ then
last I will go to cowboy lyrics.com or http://www.cowboylyrics.com Now the reason I put in the links are so you can click on them and check them out or if you happen to have a problem you can type that link into the address bar at the top of your screen and it will take you right there. Usually you not only get the lyrics but the guitar chords as well. At times you may not find the lyrics to a particular song on those sites but if you have a lot of time on your hands as I do then just keep browsing online. I remember the good ole days. you know before computers or CDs. Then I would have to have a copy of the song on a cassette or record. I would listen to one line pause it and scribble it down and hopefully I would hear it right the first time otherwise it was rewind and play again. And of course there were the days of vinyl records when I would have to try and place the needle in just the right spot. I know I about drove my mom crazy doing that. But today it is so much easier to find what you need.
I was going to write some about my recording songs and stuff but think I will save that for my next blog. I don't record to try and start a musical career cause I'm a little too old for that, but I'm not too old to share some good ole gospel music.
Take care and may God bless.
