At times I get disappointed with myself and ask God for direction. That's the way it is at times with the gospel music I try to do, so today I thought I would write a little about my videos on YouTube, So far I have posted three of them on there. What started out as an experiment(being a retired senior gives me lots of time for experimenting) has led me in a whole new direction. One of the videos Times Running Out wasn't to bad. That one I did by using different pictures as the back drop for the music.
Although it wasn't what you would call gospel music. It was a good christian song with a solid message. The other two were not all that great. Due in part to the lighting, editing and sound quality. Oh the songs in themselves were good ones Where We'll Never Grow Old and one that I wrote back in 1992 called Wouldn't It Be Nice(to take a walk with Jesus)
The lighting when I played it back looked better on my tv monitor then it did after I uploaded them on YouTube. I have been working on all aspects of making a good video.
Where I live is a senior apartment building and that's where I make these videos at. Now what I'm thinking is that being aware of where I'm at, that I am not letting my voice project how it should. Guess because of the fear of bothering neighbors. In January hopefully I will have some much needed equipment to be able to do a better looking and sounding video. On those two songs of me singing all I had to use was the camera that was on a cheap karaoke machine. And of course being on a fixed income you have to sometime purchase things as you are able. I do have a Behringer sound mixer that I use,but I just need to tweak it a little. As you can see this has been a learning experience for me and it will only get better. Although I have to find a way to get people to visit my videos on YouTube. I've directed people to them on both Facebook and on Twitter but have only had very few views. Kinda like this blog. I'm working on ways to improve both areas. You can watch my videos on YouTube by typing in michaelrupesr once you get there.Anyway life is good and will be as long as there's some good ole' gospel music.Till next time take care and may God bless you always.Mike Rupe Sr.
