Have you ever been going through a rough spot in your life, only to hear a song that gave you hope and inspiration? Well my friend, that has happened to me on more then one occasion.. It was during one of my stays at the Bethel Mission in Des Moines, Iowa. I was out of work and only had enough money to pay rent for another two days (yes, some of these places you get a certain amount of free days and then you have to start paying rent.) and then I would have to leave. I would be back out on the streets again and cold weather was coming. Of course I had been praying about it and waiting on an answer. Now every night with the exception of Saturday night the Bethel has chapel and you are required to go unless you're working or attending an outside church. That night I walked into the chapel and took a seat. I reached for the hymnal and wouldn't you know it. The song that I had opened it to was "God Will Take Care Of You." Anyway to make a long story short or a short story shorter the very next day I had to go see my case manager. I told him my situation and he told me to come with him to another pastor's office They decided to do something right away so that I would not have to leave. They put me in an area of the mission where I didn't have to pay and I would be able to stay for six months. You'll never know how relieved I was. I knew the minute I seen that song in the hymnal, that something good was about to happen and it did. God has done so many good things in my life that from time to time I would like to share them with you. I'll leave you with that song.
