Time's Running Out

I don't drive anymore, so I very seldom get out of Des Moines, Iowa. Now I know what you are thinking! What has his driving got to do with gospel music? About two weeks prior to last week there was a plan in the works for my son to pick me up and take me to his place to visit, then go visit my other son over by Iowa City. This would take us through Newton Iowa on that Thursday. Confused yet? Anyway as I was sitting at home I was thinking that it sure had been a long time since I did any gospel music for anyone and I was feeling a little ashamed.
There sit my guitar in the corner and me doing nothing. Also I had a financial crisis during the month and I was sure that I may have to pawn my guitar just to make it through the month. It's one of those things that you hate to do but is necessary. That afternoon I prayed about it and the next day as I was sitting there thinking that I may as well get it over with, the phone rang.
It was a friend of mine from the church over in Newton,Iowa. She said "Mike I don't you don't drive but is there any possibility that you might be over around Newton on Thursday?"
I told her that as a matter of fact I would be. She then asked me if there was any chance that I could do some music at a special service the church was putting on. Of course I told her I would love to, but I would not have my guitar and explaining why. She came up with a solution for me and the music was on! Know I don't know if you guys out there have ever had stuff happen that you can't explain but, it seems like God had this all worked out ahead of time. I believe that God puts circumstances, people and things in our lives so that His will is done.
Anyway I was really very happy to get back up before an audience and do a few gospel songs.
As it turned out the church meeting was a seminar on the Book of Revelation. So one of the songs I did was a short little song about the end times that I wrote back in 1991.
I'll leave you with that video today. There were no video cameras at the church seminar so I used the video that I put on You Tube which was my first try at creating a music video using pictures as a backdrop. It's not the best but I really do hope you enjoy it.
A special thanks to Holly and Angelo over in Newton, Iowa.
You take care and may God bless you always,
Your friend,
Mike Rupe Sr.
